Metro cop robbed of pistol

Johannesburg - A metro policeman has been robbed of his service pistol in Actonville, Benoni, Gauteng police said on Friday.

He was on foot patrol in Singh Street at the time of the attack on Thursday, Warrant Officer Ramothakhi Maqabe said.

Two men approached him from behind, grabbed his pistol from its holster, and ran towards Wattville hostel.

The officer was not injured, and no arrests were made. It was not known if he tried to apprehend them.

A case of common robbery was opened.
