Midlands murder trial delay

The trial of five men accused of the 2009 murder of Midlands farmer Alan Rowe, was delayed for the suspects to obtain new legal representation from legal aid.

The trial began a year ago and is expected to continue on Monday.

The five men appeared in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Wednesday when their case was adjourned.

Zakhele Ndlela, 31; Mbuso Mabaso, 19; Mswakhe Khumalo, 25; Zwelibuyile Mhlongo, 30; and Goodenough Ngiba, 27; have been charged with murder and attempted robbery with aggravating circumstances, while Mabaso is also charged with the unlawful possession of ammunition.
