Pretoria - After searching for her missing sister Lesego Masigo, 31, for six days and begging her boyfriend Cecil Ntsele, 43, to tell them where she was, Tshepiso Masigo finally found her younger sibling’s decomposing body at her boyfriend’s place, with Ntsele hanging from the ceiling of his room in Mabopane.

Tshepiso alleged a fight started between the couple after a family funeral on Saturday and she left Lesego with Ntsele that evening. That was the last time the family heard from her.

“I sent him a WhatsApp message on Monday, asking where she was but all he said was that she had left on Sunday. From then on he kept ignoring my calls and texts.

“By Thursday his phone was switched off,” she said.

“I kept going to his home and asking his parents where he was but they wouldn’t tell me anything. I eventually found an extra set of keys to the room he stayed in and asked the police to accompany me to his home. That’s when we found her.”

Tshepiso said her sister was found lying on the bed, naked, with her body already starting to decompose. “We could see he had just died recently as he looked okay, and many people had reported seeing him around the neighbourhood on Wednesday,” she said.

Masigo’s family said they were upset by family representatives of the Ntseles who were rude and also refused to apologise to them, insisting they were not killers.

“They just came here with no remorse and said they wanted a joint funeral so that the couple’s 10-year-old daughter could also grieve for her father,” said aunt Conny Phomane.

“We always got along with the family but the way they came into our home after this horrible tragedy was insensitive. Lesego’s mother is still hurt and will not let them take the grandchild,” said Phomane.

Ntsele’s brother, Dominic, said no one knew exactly what happened between the two and they as a family did not want to comment.

“We can’t be held accountable for the actions of a 43-year-old man. Besides, I don’t want to do or say anything which will make it difficult for us to communicate with Masigo’s family as there is a child involved,” he said.

Lesego will be buried on Saturday. Preparations for Ntsele’s funeral were still under way.
