Kwamashu - Nine men accused of killing a man and injuring two others in an apparent case of mob justice were expected to appear in the Ntumuza Magistrate’s Court on Friday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

The men have been in police custody since Wednesday when they were arrested.

Their arrests follow a burglary incident at the weekend.

“On 27 September 2015 at about 6am Vusumuzi Sikhakhane, 36, and his two friends were accused of breaking into one of the suspects’ house and stealing a tablet and cell phone,” police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane said.

“The suspects assaulted three victims along Ntombela road in F section. The victims were taken to hospital where Vusumuzi later succumbed to his injuries. The other victims sustained multiples injuries,” he added.
