Durban - A KwaZulu-Natal woman will appear in Mbazwana Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on charges of killing her infant daughter, police said.
“A 24-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her own infant baby girl,” said KZN police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane.
Zwane said it was alleged that the suspect had given birth to and killed her baby on Saturday night in the Kwa Mnyandu area.
He said that following the alleged killing, the suspect sought assistance at the Mseleni Hospital and when interviewed by a doctor, confessed to the crime.
“The doctor then reported the matter to the Mbazwana police, who arrived at the hospital and arrested the suspect,” said Zwane.
