Durban - The director of public prosecutions (DPP) in KwaZulu-Natal on Monday was looking into reinstating charges – that were levelled and then withdrawn - against financial adviser, Dain Neveling, who was previously accused of trying to kill his former business partner, Grant Jones.

Speaking for the province’s DPP, advocate Moipone Noko, her acting secretary, Nontobeko Duma, told the Daily News that Noko would advise further in due course.

This was after National Prosecuting Authority spokeswoman, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, said last week that although the charges were temporarily withdrawn, they could be reinstated at any time.

In July, an attempt on Jones’s life left him paralysed. Neveling was initially charged, with Johannes Hendrik Nunez and Kristian Jorgensen, for conspiring to kill Jones, but the charges against Neveling were subsequently withdrawn.

Last week, however, the Daily News’s sister paper, The Mercury , reported that Nunez and Jorgensen had admitted in court to their involvement in the plot to kill Jones.

They agreed to testify against Neveling, who was on bail, still charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
