Port Elizabeth - Christopher Panayiotou's bail application has been adjourned in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court to give the defence time to go through a new affidavit submitted by the State.

Panayiotou's attorney Terry Price asked Magistrate Abigail Beaton to give him at least an hour to discuss certain allegations contained in the affidavit with Panayiotou. The State did not oppose the request.

Court will resume at 11am.

Panayiotou, 28, stands accused of masterminding the abduction and murder of his school teacher wife Jayde, an incident that has left Port Elizabeth reeling.

It is alleged that Panayiotou paid his employee Thando Siyoli R70 000 for the hit on his wife.

Siyoli in turn secured the services of Sizwezakhe Vumazonke to carry out the job. Both men have also been arrested.
