Pretoria - Murder accused Paralympian Oscar Pistorius arrived at the Pretoria Magistrate's Court shortly before 9am on Tuesday for his pre-trial hearing.

He was ushered into court by bodyguards as photographers jostled in the streets to get photographs.

He was quickly led into the court room wearing a suit with a light blue shirt.

He faced the waiting cameras with a straight face as they clicked away.

His uncle Arnold Pistorius had also just arrived.

His defence lawyers Barry Roux and Kenny Oldwage were already in place in the court, ahead of what is expected to be a swift postponement, as was the prosecution team.

Acting Magistrate Daniel Thulare was expected to preside when court starts at 9am.

Photographers took pictures of Pistorius's sister, Aimee, wearing a black jacket and scarf, and his brother, Carl.

The clean shaven Pistorius turned and talked to his family, waiting for court to start.

His coach Ampie Louw was also present for the athlete, who is not officially in training or participating in any events. - Sapa
