Pietermaritzburg - Two men were in police custody on Tuesday after they were arrested for a murder in Pietermaritzburg at the weekend, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
The arrests happened while members of Midlands Crime Intelligence were conducting an operation in the Pietermaritzburg area.
“A licensed firearm believed to be the same one used in the killing of Xolani Ngubane was also recovered,” said police spokesman Thulani Zwane.
Ngubane was shot and killed on Friday night. Police identified the suspects and started a search, leading to Monday’s arrests.
The two suspects, aged 25 and 34, are expected to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
