Johannesburg - North West police were on Thursday searching for a suspect believed to be involved in the murder of a teenage girl, whose naked, dismembered body was found floating in the Kgetleng River near Finfoot Farm.

Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone also appealed for information that could lead to the girl's identity. She was believed to be aged between 11 and 13.

“The community is urged to assist in the identification of the body as well as information that may lead to arrest of the suspect,” said Mokgwabone.

Herdboys found the body on Sunday and alerted police.

“The body was eventually retrieved and found with missing parts including both hands, head and private parts,” said Mokgwabone.
