Johannesburg - Mpumalanga police were still searching on Monday for two men who allegedly shot dead a taxi owner in Delmas.

Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said Shadrack Ndala, 44, was shot dead while he was talking to two other owners at a taxi rank on Friday.

“Information at police disposal revealed that two armed men emerged from nowhere, fired several shots at them and as a result Ndala was wounded,” Mohlala said.

“The other two (owners) managed to take cover and the suspects fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla which was parked near the rank. Ndala was rushed to the hospital, however, he was declared dead on arrival.”

Mohlala urged anyone who had information on the shooting to contact the police. - Sapa
