Johannesburg - An Mpumalanga man accused of raping a minor is waiting for psychiatric results to determine if he can stand trial.

Fanie Freddy Ndlovu, 23, from Mangweni near the Swaziland and Mozambican border, appeared in the Tonga Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, a Sapa correspondent reported.

Ndlovu shouted at everyone, including Magistrate Sibonisiwe Sibuyi.

“Why don't you sentence me since you said I raped someone? I don't want to come back to this court again. Make sure the date you remanded me to will be the final date,” said Ndlovu, who is thought to be mentally ill.

Ndlovu was arrested on November 8, 2013, for allegedly raping a child in his home. It was not the first time Ndlovu showed his annoyance in court.

He previously pleaded not guilty to rape, but asked the court to change his plea. The court refused his request.

Sibuyi ignored his outbursts and told the court that a psychiatric assessment would prove if he was in fact mentally ill.

Ndlovu would remain in custody until his next appearance on March 6.
