Pretoria - As the city and the organisers of the TribeOne Festival prepare to face off on Monday in the Gauteng Provincial Division of the High Court, sitting in Pretoria, questions continue to be asked about who was at fault and whether further action should be taken.

The DA said it will ask Auditor-General Kimi Makwethu, to investigate the City of Tshwane more than R60 million on the show that was cancelled by the organisers on Thursday, a week before the biggest concert in Africa was to be staged outside Cullinan. “This is a gross mismanagement of public funds.

US performer Nicki Minaj was paid a non-refundable appearance fee of R10 million that will not be recovered if the festival is cancelled,” the DA said.

Spending so much money on this event leaves fewer resources to spend on housing, roads and community safety, the DA said.
