Johannesburg - Her rapist taunted her while she was being violated, telling her she was bewitched.

Once he was done, he told her he felt nothing because her husband was the one who had bewitched her.

This was the victim’s chilling testimony in the South Gauteng High Court, sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

The victim was testifying against alleged serial rapist Justice Albert Morake, who has pleaded not guilty to 175 charges levelled against him.

These include 53 counts of kidnapping, 27 of robbery with aggravating circumstances, 34 of rape, 12 of sexual offences and related crimes; two attempted murders; four of grievous bodily harm; seven of theft, eight of unlawful possession of ammunition; and 28 of unlawful possession of guns.

The woman told the court her alleged rapist had asked to have sexual intercourse with her. When she refused, she was ordered to undress herself before the rape took place.

The Kaalfontein woman told the court that Morake and an accomplice raped her twice that night.

The victim was kidnapped outside her home with a male friend, while their were sitting inside the friend’s vehicle.

Her male friend, who also took to the stand, told the court that Morake was the man who kidnapped them on the dreadful night of May 22, 2012.

He said the two assailants were both armed. The witness said their abduction lasted for at least six hours.

He said he was able to recognise Morake during the incident because he had previously pointed a gun at him in an earlier incident in February of the same year.

The man said that in both incidents, Morake was with two different accomplices.

He testified he was robbed of his cellphones and that cash was withdrawn from his bank account by the accomplices.

In cross-examination, the man told Morake to stop wasting the court’s time and tell the truth, after Morake’s defence team said he would deny the allegations.

The trial continues.
