Cape Town - Satanism could have played a role in the case of an unknown teenager found beheaded on the grounds of the abandoned Florida Primary School in Ravensmead late on Thursday night.

That was the word on Saturday night from police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut, who said satanic paraphernalia was found at the scene.

They arrested a 17-year-old youth in Connaught Street, Ravensmead, on Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday night police were still searching for the head of the teenager, believed to be about 15.

Traut said police believed they knew the identity of the victim, but would not release the information until the body had been formally identified.

Meanwhile, a second body was discovered at about 4pm on Saturday on the corner of Keizersgracht and Russell streets in Zonnebloem.

The victim, a male believed to be about 35 years old, had been stabbed multiple times.

Traut said no arrests had yet been made.
