Johannesburg - More than 10 000 boxes filled with cellphones, touch pads and other electronic devices were stolen in an orchestrated hit from the warehouse of a logistics company in Edenvale.

The armed robbery at Worldnet Logistics took place on Sunday, when 20 armed men got into the premises and held up the staff.

The stolen goods are believed to be worth more than R15-million.

Police spokeswoman Constable Sharon Tsotso said two men driving a white Mercedes Sprinter van with no windows at the back arrived at the company and told the security guard on duty they were there to see a manager, giving the man’s name, with a delivery.

Behind them were two men in a big white Isuzu truck. The guard let the two vehicles in.

Once inside, they opened the van and 16 armed men climbed out of the back.

Police are looking for the Isuzu truck, registration YZN133GP, and the Mercedes Sprinter, ND619856.
