Johannesburg - Six men were arrested in Langlaagte for impersonating police officers, Gauteng police said on Thursday.

Lieutenant Kay Makhubela said the six allegedly went to a factory on Wednesday night and told the people there that they were looking for drugs.

The six allegedly took money from the factory and planted a parcel of drugs.

“The owner of the premises called the police in Langlaagte, and they arrived to find the six men who were pretending to be police officers,” Makhubela said.

It was later discovered that the men were wanted for several crimes around Gauteng.

They were expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court soon for several charges including impersonating police officers, defeating the ends of justice and possession of drugs.
