Naboomspruit - Two rhinos shot and de-horned over Easter were found on a Naboomspruit farm at the weekend, Limpopo police said on Monday.

“One was killed while the other survived the attack and is recuperating from two bullet wounds,” Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said in a statement.

Police arrested two men in connection with the crime in Naboomspruit on Sunday, and seized an AK-47 automatic rifle. Further investigation resulted in another four arrests on the same day in Soshanguve, north-west of Pretoria.

“Another AK-47 was seized and police recovered R46 000 in cash from the suspects,” Mulaudzi said.

All six were foreign nationals aged between 32 and 34, and were expected to appear in the Naboomspruit Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. - Sapa
