Johannesburg - A 14-year-old school boy arrested for allegedly stabbing and wounding a fellow pupil at a school in Nancefield, near Lenasia, has been released to his legal guardians, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

The teenager appeared in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, Constable Sibusiso Chauke said.

The matter was postponed to November 6 for further investigations.

A fight broke out between the two boys before the start of a music class at the Zerowa Christian Academy on Monday.

The alleged attacker, a Grade eight boy, threw a stone at the 16-year-old victim. The older boy wanted to retaliate, but the teacher intervened.

Despite this the 14-year-old produced an Okapi knife and stabbed him.

The 14-year-old then threw the knife over the fence. Teachers apprehended him and found the knife.

The boy was arrested around 12.30pm and charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
