Testosterone stares for Oscar

Pretoria - There were a few tense moments when Oscar Pistorius had to negotiate his way through an antagonistic “steel barrier” of testosterone on Tuesday.

He was making his way to the dock for the start of the morning session of his trial.

An intimidating sight of brawn and muscles was seated in the row reserved for the police and other State experts attending the trial.

First was former soccer star Marc Batchelor, a well-known face at the trial and whose legs Pistorius apparently threatened to break, with Jared Mortimer – the man Pistorius recently had an altercation with at a night club – next to him.

Seated next to Mortimer was the petite Samantha Taylor, Pistorius’s former girlfriend.

But judging by the look she gave Pistorius, she was no less intimidating than her beefy counterparts.

Then there was Mikey Schultz, the self-confessed killer of mine magnate Brett Kebble.

Pistorius first had to make his way past Samantha’s mother, Trish, who described in detail in her recent book, An Accident Waiting to Happen, how close she was to Pistorius and how he became a part of their family.

This was until he apparently cheated on her daughter.

Judging by the looks she gave him, she no longer has motherly feelings towards Pistorius.

A tense-looking Pistorius stared ahead as he came close to the group.

He nearly bumped into Samantha on his way to the dock and, although coming virtually face to face with each other, both looked in opposite directions.

After Pistorius sat down, the group continued staring at and discussing him.
