Two in dock for hotel booze theft

Dutywa - Two men arrested for allegedly stealing liquor and tobacco at Idutywa hotel appeared in court on Wednesday, Eastern Cape police said.

Captain Jackson Manatha said the case against Sibongiseni Sisusa, 35, and Mkhululi Ncaphayi, 42, was postponed to May 22, for investigation.

“The two suspects have appeared before the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court this morning (Wednesday). They were not asked to plead,” said Captain Manatha.

“The allegation is that the two broke at the Idutywa Hotel during the night of Monday . They are suspected of having stolen liquor and tobacco.”

They were arrested on Tuesday at Zone 14 informal settlement in Dutywa.

“Both suspects were found with some tobacco that was positively identified as the one that was stolen at Idutywa Hotel.”
