Johannesburg - Two men found with fake asylum documents were arrested in Honeydew, Johannesburg in the early hours of Thursday morning, metro police said.

The men were arrested at around 2am at the Beyers Naude offramp on the N1, Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.

"The suspects took officers to two containers in Extension 15 Zandspruit where they used computers to manufacture fake passports, fake [SA Revenue Services] documents and asylum papers," he said.

The men had been charged with fraud and were in custody at the Honeydew police station.

They would appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court soon.
