Limpopo - A Limpopo police officer accused of robbery failed to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

The court issued a warrant of arrest for Constable Mpho Malatji, for allegedly contravening the bail conditions imposed on him when he was released in December.

Malatji allegedly committed the robbery in December. He booked off duty, claiming to be on his way to buy dinner. Around this time a petrol station in the Polokwane CBD was robbed.

The victims identified Malatji when they opened a robbery case. They alleged he wore civilian clothes over his uniform and pointed a firearm at a cashier and demanded money.

He was supposed to have made his second appearance in court on Tuesday.
