Mthatha - A second State witness told the Mthatha Regional Court on Tuesday how his friend was kicked and stomped on by Mandla Mandela, City Press online reported.
Linda Maliwa was with the complainant Mlamli Ngudle, a teacher, when Mandela, the grandson of late former president Nelson Mandela, allegedly assaulted him in an apparent road rage attack in October last year.
When asked to identify the one who attacked Ngudle, Maliwa told the court it was Mandela.
He testified Ngudle almost bumped the car of one of Mandela's associates, but maintained the car was never hit.
Maliwa said Mandela went to his car, took a gun out from under the car seat, took it out of the holster, cocked it and charged towards the two men.
“He grabbed Ngudle out of the car, pointing at him with the gun. He pulled him to the ground, a cement surface, where he repeatedly kicked and stomped him,” Maliwa told the court.
