Durban - Police confiscated drugs to the value of R120 000 from a Chatsworth home on Thursday night.

Police spokesman, Major Thulani Zwane, said on Friday that the Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Task Team had been patrolling in Unit 3, Chatsworth, at about 8.30pm when they followed up on information they had received about drugs in the area.

They searched a house, and found 936 pieces of rock cocaine, 300 mandrax tablets and 1 600 straws of heroin.

The stash was discovered in the kitchen.

“A 32-year-old woman who was in the house was arrested and charged with dealing in drugs. She is expected to appear in the Chatsworth Magistrate’s Court today.”

Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the police for their work.
