Johannesburg - Former president Nelson Mandela had a distinctive calibre of leadership and he served the country with integrity and honour, Cape Town Archbishop Emeritus Njongonkulu Ndungane said on Friday.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing away of Madiba,” he said in a statement.
“Madiba's leadership was characterised by a profound sense of purpose that espoused excellence in all its deeds.”
Ndungane called on South Africans to emulate Madiba's legacy and deepen the country's democracy.
