ANC policy conference starts

The ANC's national policy conference started in Midrand, Johannesburg, on Tuesday.

ANC chairwoman Baleka Mbete welcomed delegates.

The ANC's centenary flame was brought into the main conference hall at Gallagher Estate by Umkhonto we Sizwe soldiers and was handed to President Jacob Zuma.

Zuma, who is also the ANC's president, will deliver the opening address.

About 3500 delegates have gathered in Johannesburg to discuss the ruling party's policies. - Sapa
