Rustenburg - The election drive by the Economic Freedom Fighters in Rustenburg, North West carried on through the evening on Tuesday.
The mood was electrifying as party supporters danced to their elections song played from an EFF election truck.
“Kea kapa kae re ya le wena Juju. palamenteng re ya le wena
(Whenever you go Juju we go with you. We are going with you to parliament),” they sang.
Party member Israel Monaisa, who directed the programme, said: “It is only EFF here in Rustenburg. Where is the DA and the ANC? It is only us here.”
Despite Malema's non-arrival at the taxi rank, supporters carried on singing.
Malema's campaign at the rank was cancelled for security reasons. Provincial chairman Alfred Motsi said Malema went to speak to people in Majakaneng near Brits who threatened to blockade the N4.
“We were informed that there was no security arrangement for the commander-in-chief.
“He decided to go to Limpopo to vote,” said Motsi.
Malema was in Rustenburg to garner last-minute support for his party. He urged striking mineworkers not to boycott the election.
“If you do not vote you help the ANC to remain in power.”
Monaisa told the crowd: “We have nothing to lose. We only need one percent to be in Parliament.”
