Rustenburg - Economic Freedom Fighters in jovial mood were filing into the Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg on Saturday to celebrate the second anniversary of the party.

Dressed in the party’s trademark red T-shirts, they waited patiently in a long queue stretching for about three kilometres to gain access to the venue. At the main gate, marshalls controlled access and gave out party T-shirts to the early comers.

“I still have hope I will get my free T-shirt. There are many people but, who knows I maybe lucky enough to get one,” said Abram Moelemi from Marikana near Rustenburg in North West.

He said he could not arrive at the stadium earlier because he had not had enough money to pay for a taxi.

“Anyway why do I have to pay for a taxi when the EFF has organised free buses for us. If I do not get a T-shirt I will accept that I was few minutes late.”

The 45 00-seater stadium was painted red with a sea of red clad EFF members.

EFF leader, Julius Malema, was expected to speak to party supporters later in the day. He has spent a week visiting different wards of the Rustenburg municipality, encouraging residents to attend the rally.
