Bloemfontein - South Africans do not want grants but jobs that will give them dignity, the EFF's political educator and policy researcher said on Monday.
“We don't want grants. Industrialise the economy and give us dignity,” Mlungisi Rapolile told delegates attending the Economic Freedom Fighters' national peoples' assembly in Bloemfontein.
Immediately after saying that, he launched a scathing attack on the African National Congress and accused the party of being two-faced.
He said during elections its leaders made unobtainable promises to secure votes and then made a U-turn once it had won.
“(President) Jacob Zuma recently said South Africans were lazy. Why didn't you tell them that during campaigning,” he said.
Rapolile labelled the ANC as a party that was obsessed with “protecting white monopoly capital” at the cost of the poor.
He also called the party unconstitutional.
He encouraged delegates to familiarise themselves with the EFF's founding manifesto to help the party serve the poor better.
The EFF was not against white people in its fight for a better South Africa.
“The struggle of EFF is not a struggle against white people. It's a struggle against white monopoly capital,” Rapolile said. - Sapa
