Johannesburg - Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba and his long-time partner, IT executive Nomachule Mngoma will say “I do” at a lavish wedding at the Durban Botanical Gardens on Saturday.

“I can’t say whether President Jacob Zuma will be attending, but family and friends will join the couple in celebrating their special day,” Gigaba’s spokesman, Mayihlome Tshwete, said on Wednesday.

It will also be Gigaba’s 43rd birthday.

The celebrity wedding, with 550 invited guests, will have Selimathunzi presenter Zizo Beda and Top Billing presenter Lorna Maseko as bridesmaids. The bridal party will all wear fashion designer David Tlale creations.

Gigaba will have Tshwete and sports presenter Walter Mokoena as part of his groom’s party. They will be dressed in grey and nude - the colours of the special day.

Associated Press fashion writer Samantha Critchell says nude - highly fashionable - is the shade a little darker than sparkling wine, lighter than sand and with a hint of peach.

Three hundred guests, including political heavyweights, have been invited to the garden spectacle organised by fashion designer and events co-ordinator Gavin Rajah.
