Pretoria - Hundreds of people gathered at the Caledonian Stadium in Pretoria on Friday to protest against the visit by US President Barack Obama.
They sang, danced, and chanted slogans denouncing Obama ahead of his official visit to South Africa.
A large banner with Obama's face had the words: “meet the world's top assassin”.
The banner also had a picture of Obama behind prison bars.
Many protesters wore black hoods. Others were dressed in Young Communist League red regalia. Placards at the stadium read: “No, You Can't Obama”.
Many local and international journalists, who were camped outside the nearby Medi-Clinic Heart hospital where former president Nelson Mandela is being treated, rushed to the stadium. - Sapa
