Pretoria- For Saturday’s inauguration Economic Freedom Fighters commander in chief Julius Malema ditched his red overalls and gumboots for a suit.
Malema arrived at the Union Buildings with the party spokesman Mbuyiseni Ndlozi and both of them were wearing black suits. Malema has a black tie while Ndlozi did not wear one.
Earlier this week, Malema and 24 other members were sworn in as members of Parliament while wearing red overalls and maids uniforms.
Malema will be in Pretoria again on Monday when the North Gauteng High Court will decide on his final sequestration. He has until 10am on Monday to give the court reasons why his provisional sequestration should not be made final.
In April, a trust was launched to raise the R16-million Malema needs to settle his bill with the South African Reserve Services.
Malema owes Sars R16-million and interest after failing to submit his tax returns. He also failed to register the Ratanang Trust for tax purposes and Sars did this on his behalf. The revenue services also attached his properties to try and settle his debt.
The final sequestration will affect Malema as he will not be allowed to serve as a member of Parliament. - Pretoria News Weekend
