No grievances justify violence, says Zuma

President Jacob Zuma has spoken out against service delivery protests during his state of the nation address.

"A number of issues have already received attention," he said.

"I have directed the Ministers to attend to the outstanding matters. We reiterate that there are no grievances that can justify violence and the destruction of property.

"We have directed law enforcement agencies to take a tougher stance on lawlessness in Balfour and other areas."
