Parliament - Allegations of security breaches, insubordination and management failures have emerged from an investigation into the suspended head of Parliamentary Protection Services Zelda Holtzman and her deputy Matlatsi Mokgatla, Parliament said on Thursday.

Holtzman and Mokgatla were suspended in July, shortly after an alleged burglary in the office of Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema.

“Subsequently, Parliament appointed an independent investigator to investigate the said allegations. The investigations have now been concluded and the draft report has been submitted to Parliament,” the institution said in a statement.

“The investigations have revealed allegations of breaches of security, insubordination and failure to carry out management responsibilities.”

The draft report would now be submitted to Holtzman and Mokgatla for comment, after which Parliament would decide on the next step.

Parliament would not give any details on the findings.

“As internal processes are still underway, we wish to reiterate that communication on this matter will be limited to the processes that Parliament intends to follow.”
