Cape Town - The opposition has stuck to its guns by refusing to allow President Jacob Zuma to answer new questions in the National Assembly before he completes the outstanding questions on Nkandla payments from last August.

Zuma has remained in his seat on Wednesday while opposition MPs wrangle with Speaker Baleka Mbete on the Nkandla matter. EFF leader Julius Malema and DA chief whip John Steenhuizen have suggested alternatives on the questions.

Malema has insisted that Zuma start from the unfinished business of last August.

The DA wants the meeting of the programming committee on Thursday to give Parliament for Zuma to answer on when he is paying back a portion of the Nkandla.

EFF chief whip Floyd Shivambu said it was their duty to get Zuma to account and they cannot wait any longer. He said Mbete had promised that Zuma would answer the outstanding questions.
