Cape Town - AgangSA has given its leader, Mamphela Ramphele, 48 hours to resign pending a probe, Eyewitness News has reported.

This follows an investigation into allegations that she had direct access to political party funds.

The party’s nine provincial branches met on Sunday afternoon to table a motion of no confidence in their leader.

Last week, it emerged that Ramphele and party chairman Mike Tshishonga had filed conflicting fraud complaints with the police.

At issue was who had opened an account for the party to receive a R200 000 refund from the Independent Electoral Commission.
