Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has sent condolences to the families of eight South Africans killed in a suicide bomb attack in Kabul, Afghanistan.

“I am deeply saddened by the deaths of the South Africans, as well as the other lives that were lost during this tragic incident,” Zuma said in a statement.

International relations spokesman Nelson Kgwete said his department had received the names of the victims, and made contact with their next-of-kin.

“They worked for a private aviation company operating in the country.”
