President Jacob Zuma, delivering his state of the nation address, has again issued a warning to lazy public servants and corrupt officials.

"We need public servants who are dedicated and capable, and who care for the needs of citizens," he said.

"We continue our efforts to eradicate corruption and fraud in procurement and tender processes, and in applications for driver's licences, social grants and identity documents, among others... Our inter-ministerial committee on corruption is looking at ways to decisively defeat corruption."
