Pretoria - Friday afternoon remained quiet outside the Pretoria hospital where former president Nelson Mandela was spending his 49th day in hospital.
A few reporters sat in portable chairs with cameras across the road from the Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital's Park Street entrance, as police checked cars entering and leaving the premises.
Mandela's daughter Zindzi Mandela arrived in the morning. Members of the public inspected the wall covered in tributes and well-wishes to Mandela at the hospital's Celliers Street entrance.
Mandela was admitted to hospital on June 8 with a recurring lung infection. The presidency recently said his condition had improved, but that he was still critical. - Sapa
