E Cape sends delegation to South Korea

Port Elizabeth – A delegation from the Eastern Cape is due to embark on a official visit to South Korea, said the Eastern Cape provincial communications office on Thursday.

The delegation, led by Eastern Cape premier Phumulo Masualle is scheduled to leave on Friday to visit Chungcheongnam-do Province of the Republic of South Korea.

The provincial office said the visit was aimed at improving international relations.

It was part of the premier’s plan to “form strategic cooperation with international countries,” including cooperation and mutual development.

Issues which have been identified as areas for cooperation include investment promotion, skills development, and agriculture as well as agriculture research.

The delegation will be made up of Economic Development and Environmental Affairs MEC Sakhumzi Somyo, Rural Development and Agrarian Reform MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane, and high ranking Provincial Government and State Owned Enterprises officials.
