Butterworth - Four people burnt to death when their shack caught fire at the Khayelitsha informal settlement in Butterworth, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.

“The cause of the fire is not yet known, an inquest docket has been opened for investigation,” he said.

Manatha added that the identity of the deceased would be withheld until their next of kin were informed of their deaths.
