Australian surfer Mick Fanning's spectacular escape from a shark was the ideal recipe to strike meme gold.
Fanning was left kicking and screaming during one of South Africa’s most prestigious surfing events in Jeffreys Bay when a shark surfaced next to him, knocking the 34-year-old Australian off his board.
Social media exploded after the surfer, who may just have sucker-punched Chuck Norris out of his title as the Baddest Man Alive, escaped from the encounter unscathed.
