Bloemfontein - A man was killed and three others injured when a car and a truck carrying mielies collided on the N6 about 5km outside Bloemfontein on Thursday, Free State paramedics said.
“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles consistent with that of a high impact accident spread over a large area,” Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said.
“The car was found to have come to rest on its roof with the two occupants still trapped in the twisted frame, the truck was engulfed in flames.”
One of the men in the car died on the scene while the other was seriously injured.
Paramedics extracted the injured man from the wreckage and he was taken to a local hospital.
The two people in the truck sustained minor injuries.
