Pretoria - The funeral of three Mamelodi boys found dead after they went missing during heavy rain will be held on Wednesday, the City of Tshwane said.

The funeral of Bonolo Malemela, nine, Gomolemo Mangena, 10, and Neo Sehlabane, 10, would be held at St Peters Claver Roman Catholic Church in Mamelodi, spokesman Blessing Manale said in a statement.

The children went missing last Monday and were last seen playing near a stormwater drainage pipe which had been covered by flood debris.

After a week-long search, Tshwane emergency workers found their bodies beneath uprooted trees that had fallen into the Pienaars River.

“As a city, we are deeply saddened by this tragic accident and hope the families can find some solace knowing that the children are in a better place and as a city we will support them through this difficult time,” Manale said. - Sapa
