Johannesburg - The trial of Cypriot national George Louca, accused of the murder of Teazers' boss Lolly Jackson, was postponed to April in the Johannesburg High Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court.

“The State has agreed to have regard to these representations... and the case will be postponed,” prosecutor Paul Schutte said on Monday.

The case was postponed to April 20.

Louca, who is standing trial under the name George Smith, was not in court. He has been moved to a place of safety and appeared via a video feed last time for his own security.

Previous proceedings have been translated into Greek for Louca. Last year, his lawyer said a possession of stolen property case against Louca from 2007 was still pending.

Jackson was shot dead in a house in Edleen, on the East Rand, on May 3, 2010. At the time it was reported that he called then Gauteng intelligence boss Joey Mabasa and confessed to the crime.

City Press and EWN reported on Sunday that according to an affidavit they were privy to, Czech fugitive and businessman Radovan Krejcir, already on trial for another murder, was the triggerman.

Forensic consultant Paul O'Sullivan reportedly said that, according to Louca, Jackson was shot in a house Louca was renting after a “verbal and then physical dispute concerning money laundering”.
