Johannesburg - A 72-year-old man died after he fell at least 10 metres through the roof of a building in Langlaagte, Johannesburg, paramedics said on Friday.

“It is understood that the man, along with other people, were inspecting parts of the roof when he fell through it. Paramedics found the man sitting on a chair in the building. He was disorientated and while paramedics were busy treating the man he suddenly deteriorated and showed no signs of life,” said ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak.

The elderly man was declared dead on the scene.
