Pretoria - Three people were killed when a taxi and a car collided in Pretoria on Monday morning, said emergency workers.

Paramedics had to extricate a woman in her early 30s who was trapped in the car, said ER24 spokeswoman Chitra Bodasing.

“She was assessed. Her vital signs were weak. She had to be resuscitated but unfortunately died,” said Bodasing.

The driver of the car and the driver of the taxi were found lying on the road.

“It is believed they were ejected from the vehicles,” said Bodasing.

They both died.

It was unclear whether the taxi was carrying any passengers.

While the cause of the accident was unclear, Bodasing said the taxi had rolled 50 metres from where the collision occurred.
