Johannesburg - The University of Johannesburg student who went missing last Monday is receiving psychological attention.

Zandile Zinu, a first-year fine-arts student at the Bunting Road campus, was found unharmed and healthy on Thursday afternoon by her family.

Her mother Rachel said her daughter was already attending psychological sessions to deal with the situation.

She was found unharmed when they met her at Maponya Mall on Thursday.

“She bought a SIM card to call her twin sister and tell her about her whereabouts,” said Rachel.

Speaking last week at her Liefde-en-Vrede home south of Joburg, Rachel said her daughter had reportedly been seen at the Kingsway campus’s bus stop at around 9.30am by her twin sister’s classmate.

At the time, the classmate mistakenly identified Zandile as her twin and enquired about their next lecture.

On Monday, Rachel said her daughter had not yet explained what had transpired. “She is only speaking to her siblings in bits and pieces. We only get to hear some of the things through her sister and brother. We are not rushing her, but giving her all the support she needs. We’re hoping she’ll give us details,” she said.
