Hunky Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba seems to be battling to keep his home affairs in order, this after his wife, Noma, accused international fashion stylist Buhle Mkhize of wanting her husband.

Instagram users were kept amused and entertained on Thursday when an Insta-war ensued between the women, who exchanged late-night arguments on Instagram.

Noma – who goes by the name Mrs Gigabyte on Instagram – sent messages across the world to Buhle, who immediately took to texting back from her home in New York. Noma sent messages from Russia with loathing – the messages were written in Zulu and English – Noma called Buhle a prostitute and declared she would not be shaken by a loser.

“Miss photoshop and a lot of make up awuve u fake (you are fake). Go to hell, prostitute, tell the whole world, I am not shaken, loser, you have been doing this since last year.

“You know yourself too much, not with my man, this is not an Aupar Zone, hamba uyofa (go die), I don’t give a dam, I can stand on my own, I don’t need public to support me, u are a loser,” Noma said in a number of messages.

She continued: “Miss fashion police, you are so good at doing surgery, why don’t you reduce iziqhomo (cheeks), Awushadile, awunangane uyinja ye makeup nje nobufebe (you are not married, do not have children, you are nothing but a bitch with a lot of make-up).”

Mkhize didn’t take it lying down, responding that she didn’t want Noma’s man. “Are you going to play this jealousy card again? Are you going to insult me about a man whose chased after me, while you were insulting me, now I am a prostitute? I keep telling you stop insulting me about a man I do not want. If he loves you so much why do you have to tell me, what is threatening you?” she asked in a message.

After an exchange of private messages, Buhle then responded publicly on Noma’s Instagram profile and screen-grabbed all the private messages and posted them for users to see. The fashionista said she was tired, and challenged Noma to say everything in the open and tagged her profile.

“Sengikhathele (I’m tired), I have had enough of this so please say all that you have to me in the open. I’m more than happy to walk the public through EVERYTHING that’s happened in the past year.

“I don’t care what you call me but one thing I know is that I am not FAKE. I’ve made my mistakes and I will never run from them. What is not going to happen is you degrading me over a man I don’t want. I am not just an unafraid person, I’m half- way crazy in a sense that I will not be back down for s&$t.”

The Insta war between the two women continued until very late, but the next day they were deleted.

When Mkhize was contacted in New York, she was only willing to say that she stood by her posts, and would talk more about the matter when she was ready.

Mkhize is originally from eShowe in KwaZulu-Natal. She owns a clothing boutique and also features on Ukhozi midday show where she gives the lowdown on fashion trends.

Noma and Gigaba were unavailable for comment at the time of going to press. Their phones went unanswered, and they did not respond to messages.

The minister’s spokesman, Mayihlome Tshwete, said: “I do not comment on their private lives and the minister will also not comment about his life. The best person to speak to is the one who posted those messages. No one has verified those messages so you cannot say they were sent by Mrs Gigaba.”

It is not clear when and how the “war” started, but sources close to the couple said it looked like Mkhize was a “rejected” woman. They added that Mkhize had once sent messages to Noma apologising for her behaviour. Gigaba, who is also very active on social media, was previously embroiled in a messy extra-marital affair controversy.

He divorced his first wife, Thabong, to marry Noma last year.
